Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
1 C butter, softened
1 C light brown sugar
1 C granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 C four
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
12 oz chocolate chips (I like the jumbo)
1 C chopped nuts (optional)
First step: cream butter and sugars together until light and fluffy. The creamed mixture should change color and look like the picture.
Add the eggs one at a time and beat well after each addition. Next, add the vanilla to the creamed mixture and combine. In a small bowl, combine all of the dry ingredients; flour, baking powder and salt; Stir together. With the mixer on slow speed, add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture. Remember to scrape down the sides of the bowl as you mix in the dry ingredients. Finally, when all of the dry ingredients are mixed well, stir in the chocolate chips.
Scoop out the dough by the tablespoon or if you have a cookie scoop use that to put about 15-18 cookies per cookie sheet.
Bake at 375F for 10-12 minutes. Move onto parchment paper to cool after one minute on the cookie sheet.
Tip: Only cook one cookie sheet at a time in your oven. This will keep the circulation of air going around your cookie sheet and ensure that your will have even baking.
